Capital Group CEO Mike Gitlin interviews Winnie Kwan, an equity portfolio manager based in our Hong Kong office. As one of Morningstar’s top female fund managers of 2024,* Winnie discusses her investment edge, what she learned from the Asian financial crisis and how she applied those lessons years later in the global financial crisis. She also shares her thoughts on investment themes driving the rapid growth of emerging markets.


 


Mike Gitlin is president and chief executive officer of Capital Group. He is also the chair of the Capital Group Management Committee. Mike has 30 years of investment industry experience (as of 12/31/2023). He holds a bachelor's degree from Colgate University.

Winnie Kwan is an equity portfolio manager with 29 years of investment industry experience (as of 12/31/2023). She holds both master’s and bachelor’s degrees in economics from the University of Cambridge.
