Money market checks

Check writing is a convenient way to access your money, and checks can be used for various purchases.

Things to consider:

• Checks can be ordered only for your American Funds U.S. Government Money Market Fund Class A or F-2 shares and are not available for other funds or share classes
• The minimum amount a check can be written for is $250
• There is no maximum amount that a check can be written for, as long as sufficient funds are available to cover it
• There is no limit on the number of checks that can be written over a time frame
   

Reordering checks

To order checks online:

• Log in and click Profile & Settings
• Click Money Market Checks under the section titled Other
• Click Order
   

Alternatively, you can contact us to order via phone.

A book of checks will be sent by mail and will generally arrive 7 to 10 days after your request is processed.

Requesting checks be mailed overnight

Contact us to order checks and request expedited delivery.
Checks can be sent overnight to a physical address but not to a P.O. box. Additional fees apply.

Updating check signers

Contact your financial professional or complete the Signature Card Update form (PDF) with a signature guarantee . Forms can be mailed to the service center near you. The signer must be an account owner or trustee or otherwise authorized by Capital Group to use the account.

Note: Updates due to name changes must also include the appropriate documentation.

Adding the check-writing option on an existing account

To enable check writing for an existing account:

• Complete the Mutual Fund Account Options form (PDF) with a signature guarantee
• Mail the form to the service center closest to you
   

Requests are generally processed within 5 business days, provided they contain the necessary information and legal documentation. Once the option is added to your account, you will receive a confirmation and book of checks.
