MAI adds pair of sports-focused advisors in Cincinnati

Jon Hayes and Tim Hightower join MAI Capital Management as the company continues to build out its advice-for-athletes practice in the Queen City.
MAI Capital Management has brought on a pair of advisors to bolster its sports and entertainment division, the serial acquirer revealed Tuesday. 
Jon Hayes and Tim Hightower join MAI from Constellation Sports Council (CSC), a Cincinnati, Ohio-based RIA that worked with professional athletes, largely across baseball and basketball. The duo managed around $280m in client assets at CSC that they have since brought over to MAI, with the expectation of another $200m coming over from existing contracts, according to Hayes.
Hayes was the president and co-founder of CSC, which he launched in 2019. Hayes co-founded the firm alongside a quartet of notable retired athletes including the National Basketball Association’s Ray Allen and David West and Major League Baseball’s Barry Larkin and Jamey Carroll.
