Talley Léger's journey from French horn to finance

Talley Léger, chief market strategist with The Wealth Consulting Group, spoke to Citywire about how he uses his musical background to spot trends in financial data.
Talley Léger wasn’t always on track to become a financial advisor. In fact, for years, he played the French horn, performing with symphonies and studying music at Boston University, his alma mater.
In September, Léger, now based in New Jersey, joined The Wealth Consulting Group from Raymond James, becoming the Las Vegas-based hybrid RIA’s chief market strategist. But it was only after more than a decade of studying music that he decided to make the leap into the wealth management business.
It started with Léger’s mother, a classical pianist who taught students out of a studio. Instead of being told bedtime stories, Léger said, ‘we went to sing at the piano.’
Léger grew up in Canada and found his way to the French horn in grade school. During high school, he simultaneously attended the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto.
