Ric Edelman funds dinosaur museum in New Jersey

The retired executive of $270bn mega-RIA Edelman Financial Engines helped finance the museum, which celebrated its grand opening on Thursday.
Ric Edelman has hardly been idle since stepping away from his eponymous $270bn RIA at the end of 2021, having since positioned himself as one of the wealth management community’s most outspoken proponents of digital assets and cryptocurrencies.
On Thursday, Edelman unveiled a completely different type of venture — a new dinosaur and fossil museum at Rowan University in Glassboro, N.J., the creation of which he and his wife, Jean Edelman, helped fund.
The Edelmans are the sole private donors to the Edelman Fossil Park & Museum of Rowan University, contributing $25m out of the total $75m in funding it took to design and construct the facility, with the rest being funded by bonds. The museum held a grand opening celebration Thursday ahead of its public opening, which is scheduled for March 29.
