Osaic taps ex-Meta legal exec as general counsel

Saumya Bhavsar, formerly the head of legal in Meta’s finance division, will serve as the brokerage firm's new general counsel.
Independent brokerage giant Osaic has named Saumya Bhavsar chief legal officer and general counsel, the company announced Tuesday.
Bhavsar most recently served as vice president and head of legal at Meta FinTech, a business division of the social media company formerly known as Facebook that deals with offerings related to financial services, like WhatsApp payments and Facebook Pay. She served in that role for nearly three years, according to her LinkedIn profile.
There, Bhavsar advised Meta on its payment products, according to Osaic’s release. She previously served as general counsel at Diem Networks, the company representing Meta’s cryptocurrency experiment — previously called Libra — that was shut down in 2022 due to regulatory hurdles. Before joining Diem, she was a managing director at UBS.
