The last few months have been a time of adjustment and reflection at Waverly Advisors, the nearly $17bn Alabama-based RIA.
Josh Reidinger, the firm’s long-time chief executive,
died last December following a battle with bile duct cancer. Justin Russell, Waverly’s president who worked alongside Reidinger for over a decade, has since taken on the CEO mantle with a
vision of carrying on his former colleague’s legacy.
Now several months into his expanded role atop Waverly, Russell said that while he’s ‘never been more excited’ from a business standpoint about the state of the firm, he also continues to feel the weight of Reidinger’s passing.
‘I miss my friend,’ Russell said. ‘There’s no replacing Josh and some of the aspects that he brought to the business because he was just a really unique individual. With that said, Josh and I were hand-in-hand running this business for over a decade, so the business from a leadership standpoint is on great footing.’
