Ashton Thomas Private Wealth has added a multibillion-dollar, Boston-based advisory team, and its parent company has also purchased an affiliated broker-dealer.
The Boston team, which is using the name Stafford Schauer Private Wealth Team, previously managed roughly $2bn in assets at Raymond James’ Alex.Brown division, according to Arax Investment Partners. Arax is a wealth management platform that acquired Ashton Thomas last year.
Stafford Schauer Private Wealth consists of managing director and partner Chris Stafford, managing director and partner Cory Schauer, senior investment portfolio analyst Ines Seferi, senior associate Meghan Thompson, associate Hunter Hendrix and associate Susie Register.
Stafford and Schauer both registered with Raymond James in 2016, after serving stints at Deutsche Bank Securities. Stafford’s disclosure history on the Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) public database shows nine customer disputes and a regulatory action, all of them from 2005 or earlier...
