$12bn Merit joins Fidelity referral network

Merit Financial Advisors COO Chrissy Lee told Citywire that joining Fidelity's Wealth Advisor Solutions program will strengthen the firm's organic growth engine.
Merit Financial Advisors has joined Fidelity’s Wealth Advisor Solutions (WAS) referral program, the serial acquirer revealed on Thursday. 
Merit has had a custodial relationship with Fidelity since 2016, but discussions about joining the referral network formally began roughly a year and half ago, Chrissy Lee, Merit’s chief operating officer, told Citywire. Lee said joining the program is ‘complimentary’ to Merit’s existing organic growth channels and should not be viewed as the RIA’s primary means of growth moving forward. 
‘We know that the other firms that are within the WAS program, how strong they are and the growth that they have had,’ Lee said. ‘So we see this as just a great opportunity, and we believe that with the services and offerings that we provide, we can absolutely be successful in the program.’
